What can you expect?

On this experience we aim to show you the scene of Hungarian mentality, politics, economy or any other aspect of our lives that you wouldn't be able to hear anywhere else.

We created this experience so one can get to know facts and our opinion on Hungary's recent past and present including changing from Communism to democracy and the creation of "illiberal democracy" in the past few years.

We believe in honesty and will try to answer all questions.

Value

Let’s sit in together a cult cafe that has changed little since its opening in 1961 and let’s talk without taboos.

The idea of this tour was born on a recent trip to Russia where Daniel and his family couldn't find someone who'd enlighten us without taboos about their situation and give an unbiased personal opinion.

We start in the first ~45 minutes with an (as much objective as possible) introduction to Hungary's modern era, starting from the WWI and focusing on the last 30 years (change from Communism to our young democracy), focusing mainly on historical, economical and political aspects.

In the second ~45 minutes we enter a conversation and you are able to ask anything you've ever wanted about Hungary (and more!): let it be controversial politics, its turbulent past or uncertain future, economy, our personal opinion, ideas for change, etc.

On this experience we aim to show you the scene of Hungarian mentality, politics, economy or any other aspect of our lives that you wouldn't be able to hear anywhere else.

"The best part of this tour for me was the insights that Daniel was able and willing to share. While it was a history tour, Daniel's knowledge about his country far exceeded any simple history and the ability to meet and speak with a Hungarian made the tour so much better."

"Nandor is the guy to ask about everything and I am sure he will have a story for it! We had a great tour, he walked us through Buda Castle and told many interesting things about Hungarian history and culture. We even didn’t notice that it has been for more than 3 hours. Highly recommended!"

"Barika was my guide - and we instantly bonded! We had a great time on our tour, sharing personal stories, but also immersing ourselves in the deep history of the Buda Castle, Fisherman's Bastion, and hidden secret surprises that I can't reveal. We also had the opportunity to stop for a delicious refreshment and relax in the sun."
